Situated in Camiling, Tarlac, Barangay Sta. Maria is one of 61 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Luzon.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Sta. Maria had a population of 2,466. This made it the 8th largest of 61 barangays in Camiling by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sta. Maria accounted for approximately 2.82% of the total population of Camiling, which stood at 87,319 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Sta. Maria changed from 2,292 to 2,466, a shift of +7.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Camiling. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Sta.
