Barangay Salapungan

Situated in Candaba, Pampanga, Barangay Salapungan is one of 33 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Luzon.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Salapungan had a population of 5,019. This made it the 7th largest of 33 barangays in Candaba by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Salapungan accounted for approximately 4.20% of the total population of Candaba, which stood at 119,497 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Salapungan moving from 5,579 residents to 5,019 residents, an intercensal change of -10.0%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Salapungan as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.
