Situated in Capas, Tarlac, Barangay Dolores is one of 20 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Luzon.

This made it the 7th largest of 20 barangays in Capas by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dolores accounted for approximately 4.94% of the total population of Capas, which stood at 156,056 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Dolores changed from 6,752 to 7,706, a shift of +14.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Capas. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Dolores as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Capas is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Dolores, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
