Barangay Talairan

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Talairan is one of the administrative divisions of Capoocan in Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Talairan had a population of 856. This made it the 13th largest of 21 barangays in Capoocan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Talairan accounted for approximately 2.54% of the total population of Capoocan, which stood at 33,721 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Talairan moving from 943 residents to 856 residents, an intercensal change of -9.2%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Talairan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Capoocan is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Talairan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
