Barangay Cantipay

Situated in Carmen, Cebu, Barangay Cantipay is one of 21 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cantipay had a population of 2,140. This made it the 14th largest of 21 barangays in Carmen by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cantipay accounted for approximately 3.70% of the total population of Carmen, which stood at 57,897 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Cantipay moving from 1,805 residents to 2,140 residents, an intercensal change of +18.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Cantipay as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Carmen is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cantipay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
