Situated in Carranglan, Nueva Ecija, Barangay Joson is one of 17 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Luzon.

This made it the 1st largest of 17 barangays in Carranglan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Joson accounted for approximately 13.14% of the total population of Carranglan, which stood at 42,420 in the same census year.
