Barangay Malobago

Situated in Cataingan, Masbate, Barangay Malobago is one of 36 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Malobago had a population of 859. This made it the 26th largest of 36 barangays in Cataingan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Malobago accounted for approximately 1.70% of the total population of Cataingan, which stood at 50,623 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Malobago changed from 827 to 859, a shift of +3.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Cataingan. Barangay Malobago is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Cataingan is a municipality comprising 36 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Malobago, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
