Barangay Galutan

Barangay Galutan is a small barangay in the municipality of Catarman, located in the province of Northern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Galutan had a population of 1,881. This made it the 20th largest of 55 barangays in Catarman by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Galutan accounted for approximately 1.92% of the total population of Catarman, which stood at 97,879 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Galutan moving from 1,797 residents to 1,881 residents, an intercensal change of +4.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Galutan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
