Barangay 8 (Pob.)

Situated in Catubig, Northern Samar, Barangay 8 (Pob.) is one of 47 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay 8 (Pob.) had a population of 634. This made it the 19th largest of 47 barangays in Catubig by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay 8 (Pob.) accounted for approximately 1.97% of the total population of Catubig, which stood at 32,174 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay 8 (Pob.) changed from 774 to 634, a shift of -18.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Catubig. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay 8 (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Catubig is a municipality comprising 47 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay 8 (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
