Barangay Lucap

Barangay Lucap is a large barangay in the city of City of Alaminos, located in the province of Pangasinan, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Lucap had a population of 6,173. This made it the 2nd largest of 39 barangays in City of Alaminos by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Lucap accounted for approximately 6.21% of the total population of City of Alaminos, which stood at 99,397 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Lucap changed from 5,714 to 6,173, a shift of +8.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Alaminos. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Lucap as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Alaminos is a city comprising 39 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lucap, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Pangasinan, which contains 1,364 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Lucap ranks 39th by 2020 population. Pangasinan is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

The barangay's legislative and executive affairs are handled by a Punong Barangay and the Sangguniang Barangay, elected nationwide during the Barangay and SK Elections. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
