Barangay Basak

Barangay Basak forms part of City of Bais, a city in Negros Oriental, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Basak had a population of 2,175. This made it the 16th largest of 35 barangays in City of Bais by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Basak accounted for approximately 2.58% of the total population of City of Bais, which stood at 84,317 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Basak moving from 1,792 residents to 2,175 residents, an intercensal change of +21.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Basak as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
