Barangay Kahayag

Situated in City of Bislig, Surigao Del Sur, Barangay Kahayag is one of 24 barangays that make up the city within Caraga.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Kahayag had a population of 1,271. This made it the 18th largest of 24 barangays in City of Bislig by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Kahayag accounted for approximately 1.28% of the total population of City of Bislig, which stood at 99,290 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Kahayag moving from 1,162 residents to 1,271 residents, an intercensal change of +9.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Kahayag is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
