Barangay Matadero (Pob.)

Barangay Matadero (Pob.) is a small barangay in the city of City of Cabanatuan, located in the province of Nueva Ecija, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Matadero (Pob.) had a population of 1,010. This made it the 80th largest of 89 barangays in City of Cabanatuan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Matadero (Pob.) accounted for approximately 0.31% of the total population of City of Cabanatuan, which stood at 327,325 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Matadero (Pob.) changed from 1,123 to 1,010, a shift of -10.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in City of Cabanatuan. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Matadero (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Cabanatuan is a city comprising 89 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Matadero (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
