Barangay Bucal

Barangay Bucal is a large barangay in the City of Calamba, located in the province of Laguna, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bucal had a population of 14,289. This made it the 13th largest of 54 barangays in City of Calamba by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Bucal accounted for approximately 2.65% of the total population of City of Calamba, which stood at 539,671 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 12,818 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 14,289 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +11.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Bucal is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Calamba is a city comprising 54 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bucal, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Laguna, which contains 681 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bucal ranks 58th by 2020 population. Laguna is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

The barangay's legislative and executive affairs are handled by a Punong Barangay and the Sangguniang Barangay, elected nationwide during the Barangay and SK Elections. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
