Barangay Maunong

Barangay Maunong is a mid-sized barangay in the City of Calamba, located in the province of Laguna, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Maunong had a population of 4,395. This made it the 39th largest of 54 barangays in City of Calamba by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Maunong accounted for approximately 0.81% of the total population of City of Calamba, which stood at 539,671 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Maunong changed from 2,164 to 4,395, a shift of +103.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Calamba. Barangay Maunong is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Calamba is a city comprising 54 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Maunong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Laguna, which contains 681 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Maunong ranks 198th by 2020 population. Barangay Maunong is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
