Barangay Parian forms part of City of Calamba, a city in Laguna, and is classified as a very large barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Parian had a population of 25,558. This made it the 4th largest of 54 barangays in City of Calamba by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Parian accounted for approximately 4.74% of the total population of City of Calamba, which stood at 539,671 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 22,082 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 25,558 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +15.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Parian is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Calamba is a city comprising 54 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Parian, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Laguna, which contains 681 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Parian ranks 26th by 2020 population. Barangay Parian is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
