Barangay Ilaya (Pob.)

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Ilaya (Pob.) is one of the administrative divisions of City of Calapan in Oriental Mindoro, MIMAROPA Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Ilaya (Pob.) had a population of 3,965. This made it the 10th largest of 62 barangays in City of Calapan by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Ilaya (Pob.) accounted for approximately 2.72% of the total population of City of Calapan, which stood at 145,786 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Ilaya (Pob.) changed from 3,974 to 3,965, a shift of -0.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in City of Calapan. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Ilaya (Pob.) as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Calapan is a city comprising 62 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ilaya (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
