Barangay Sto. Niño

Barangay Sto. Niño forms part of City of Calapan, a city in Oriental Mindoro, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Sto. Niño had a population of 3,670. This made it the 16th largest of 62 barangays in City of Calapan by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Sto. Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Sto. Niño changed from 3,804 to 3,670, a shift of -3.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in City of Calapan. Barangay Sto. Niño is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Calapan is a city comprising 62 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sto. Niño, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Oriental Mindoro, which contains 426 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Sto. Niño ranks 55th by 2020 population.
