According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Caterman had a population of 2,652. This made it the 5th largest of 42 barangays in City of Candon by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Caterman accounted for approximately 4.32% of the total population of City of Candon, which stood at 61,432 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,497 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,652 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +6.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Caterman is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
