Barangay Oaig-Daya

Barangay Oaig-Daya is a mid-sized barangay in the City of Candon, located in the province of Ilocos Sur, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Oaig-Daya had a population of 2,041. This made it the 9th largest of 42 barangays in City of Candon by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Oaig-Daya accounted for approximately 3.32% of the total population of City of Candon, which stood at 61,432 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,119 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,041 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -3.7%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Oaig-Daya is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Candon is a city comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Oaig-Daya, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Ilocos Sur, which contains 768 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Oaig-Daya ranks 44th by 2020 population.
