Barangay Bantaawan

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Bantaawan is one of the administrative divisions of City of Gingoog in Misamis Oriental, Northern Mindanao, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bantaawan had a population of 598. This made it the 58th largest of 79 barangays in City of Gingoog by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Bantaawan accounted for approximately 0.44% of the total population of City of Gingoog, which stood at 136,698 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bantaawan moving from 638 residents to 598 residents, an intercensal change of -6.3%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bantaawan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Gingoog is a city comprising 79 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bantaawan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
