Barangay Senote

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Senote is one of the administrative divisions of City of Oroquieta in Misamis Occidental, Northern Mindanao, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Senote had a population of 882. This made it the 26th largest of 47 barangays in City of Oroquieta by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Senote accounted for approximately 1.22% of the total population of City of Oroquieta, which stood at 72,301 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 888 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 882 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -0.7%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Senote as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Oroquieta is a city comprising 47 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Senote, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Misamis Occidental, which contains 490 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Senote ranks 246th by 2020 population. Misamis Occidental is classified as a 2nd by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Barangay Senote is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
