Barangay Doña Consuelo

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Doña Consuelo is one of the administrative divisions of City of Ozamiz in Misamis Occidental, Northern Mindanao, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Doña Consuelo had a population of 4,901. This made it the 11th largest of 51 barangays in City of Ozamiz by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Doña Consuelo accounted for approximately 3.49% of the total population of City of Ozamiz, which stood at 140,334 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 4,178 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 4,901 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +17.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Doña Consuelo is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Ozamiz is a city comprising 51 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Doña Consuelo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Misamis Occidental, which contains 490 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Doña Consuelo ranks 13th by 2020 population. Misamis Occidental is classified as a 2nd by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Barangay Doña Consuelo is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
