Barangay Gala

Barangay Gala forms part of City of Ozamiz, a city in Misamis Occidental, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Gala had a population of 923. This made it the 36th largest of 51 barangays in City of Ozamiz by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Gala accounted for approximately 0.66% of the total population of City of Ozamiz, which stood at 140,334 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 935 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 923 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -1.3%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. Barangay Gala is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Ozamiz is a city comprising 51 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Gala, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
