Barangay San Agustin

Barangay San Agustin is a mid-sized barangay in the city of City of San Fernando, located in the province of La Union, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Agustin had a population of 2,269. This made it the 17th largest of 59 barangays in City of San Fernando by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay San Agustin accounted for approximately 1.81% of the total population of City of San Fernando, which stood at 125,640 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay San Agustin moving from 2,204 residents to 2,269 residents, an intercensal change of +2.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Agustin as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of San Fernando is a city comprising 59 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Agustin, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
