Barangay Baranghawon

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Baranghawon is one of the administrative divisions of City of Tabaco in Albay, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Baranghawon had a population of 4,787. This made it the 9th largest of 47 barangays in City of Tabaco by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Baranghawon accounted for approximately 3.40% of the total population of City of Tabaco, which stood at 140,961 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 4,357 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 4,787 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +9.9%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Baranghawon is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Tabaco is a city comprising 47 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Baranghawon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Albay, which contains 720 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Baranghawon ranks 44th by 2020 population. Barangay Baranghawon is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
