Barangay Buang

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Buang is one of the administrative divisions of City of Tabaco in Albay, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Buang had a population of 3,442. This made it the 17th largest of 47 barangays in City of Tabaco by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Buang accounted for approximately 2.44% of the total population of City of Tabaco, which stood at 140,961 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Buang moving from 2,949 residents to 3,442 residents, an intercensal change of +16.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Buang as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Tabaco is a city comprising 47 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Buang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
