Barangay Bulanao

Barangay Bulanao is a very large barangay in the City of Tabuk, located in the province of Kalinga, in the CAR region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bulanao had a population of 21,522. This made it the 1st largest of 43 barangays in City of Tabuk by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Bulanao accounted for approximately 17.78% of the total population of City of Tabuk, which stood at 121,033 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Bulanao changed from 19,636 to 21,522, a shift of +9.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Tabuk. Barangay Bulanao is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Tabuk is a city comprising 43 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bulanao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Kalinga, which contains 153 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bulanao ranks 1st by 2020 population. Kalinga is classified as a 3rd by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

The barangay's legislative and executive affairs are handled by a Punong Barangay and the Sangguniang Barangay, elected nationwide during the Barangay and SK Elections. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
