Barangay Sambong

Situated in City of Tagaytay, Cavite, Barangay Sambong is one of 34 barangays that make up the city within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Sambong had a population of 1,294. This made it the 25th largest of 34 barangays in City of Tagaytay by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Sambong accounted for approximately 1.52% of the total population of City of Tagaytay, which stood at 85,330 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Sambong changed from 1,253 to 1,294, a shift of +3.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Tagaytay. Barangay Sambong is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Tagaytay is a city comprising 34 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sambong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cavite, which contains 829 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Sambong ranks 648th by 2020 population. Cavite is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
