Barangay Laurel

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Laurel is one of the administrative divisions of City of Tanauan in Batangas, CALABARZON, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Laurel had a population of 1,514. This made it the 39th largest of 48 barangays in City of Tanauan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Laurel accounted for approximately 0.78% of the total population of City of Tanauan, which stood at 193,936 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,502 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,514 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +0.8%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Laurel as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Tanauan is a city comprising 48 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Laurel, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
