According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Talaga had a population of 5,600. This made it the 10th largest of 48 barangays in City of Tanauan by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Talaga accounted for approximately 2.89% of the total population of City of Tanauan, which stood at 193,936 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 4,755 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 5,600 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +17.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Talaga as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Tanauan is a city comprising 48 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Talaga, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
