Barangay Amucao

Situated in City of Tarlac, Tarlac, Barangay Amucao is one of 76 barangays that make up the city within Central Luzon.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Amucao had a population of 2,660. This made it the 49th largest of 76 barangays in City of Tarlac by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Amucao accounted for approximately 0.69% of the total population of City of Tarlac, which stood at 385,398 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,220 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,660 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +19.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Amucao as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Tarlac is a city comprising 76 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Amucao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Tarlac, which contains 511 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Amucao ranks 178th by 2020 population.
