Barangay Lapasan

Situated in Clarin, Misamis Occidental, Barangay Lapasan is one of 29 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Lapasan had a population of 4,813. This made it the 1st largest of 29 barangays in Clarin by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lapasan accounted for approximately 12.23% of the total population of Clarin, which stood at 39,356 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Lapasan moving from 4,428 residents to 4,813 residents, an intercensal change of +8.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Lapasan as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Clarin is a municipality comprising 29 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lapasan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
