Barangay Mababang Baybay

Barangay Mababang Baybay is a small barangay in the municipality of Claveria, located in the province of Masbate, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Mababang Baybay had a population of 1,457. This made it the 16th largest of 22 barangays in Claveria by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mababang Baybay accounted for approximately 3.46% of the total population of Claveria, which stood at 42,142 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Mababang Baybay moving from 1,496 residents to 1,457 residents, an intercensal change of -2.6%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Mababang Baybay is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Claveria is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mababang Baybay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Masbate, which contains 550 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Mababang Baybay ranks 242nd by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
