Barangay Mulao

Situated in Compostela, Cebu, Barangay Mulao is one of 17 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Mulao had a population of 1,692. This made it the 9th largest of 17 barangays in Compostela by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mulao accounted for approximately 3.03% of the total population of Compostela, which stood at 55,874 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Mulao changed from 1,600 to 1,692, a shift of +5.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Compostela. Barangay Mulao is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Compostela is a municipality comprising 17 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mulao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
