Barangay Bagongon

Situated in Concepcion, Iloilo, Barangay Bagongon is one of 25 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bagongon had a population of 1,365. This made it the 14th largest of 25 barangays in Concepcion by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bagongon accounted for approximately 3.06% of the total population of Concepcion, which stood at 44,633 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Bagongon changed from 1,649 to 1,365, a shift of -17.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Concepcion. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bagongon as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Concepcion is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bagongon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
