Barangay VIII (Pob.)

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay VIII (Pob.) is one of the administrative divisions of Daet in Camarines Norte, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay VIII (Pob.) had a population of 2,936. This made it the 18th largest of 25 barangays in Daet by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay VIII (Pob.) accounted for approximately 2.63% of the total population of Daet, which stood at 111,700 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,966 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,936 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -1.0%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay VIII (Pob.) as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Daet is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay VIII (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
