Barangay New Compostela

Situated in Damulog, Bukidnon, Barangay New Compostela is one of 17 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay New Compostela had a population of 1,240. This made it the 11th largest of 17 barangays in Damulog by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay New Compostela accounted for approximately 3.15% of the total population of Damulog, which stood at 39,322 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay New Compostela changed from 1,265 to 1,240, a shift of -2.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Damulog. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay New Compostela as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Damulog is a municipality comprising 17 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay New Compostela, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
