Barangay Mapalad

Barangay Mapalad is a small barangay in the municipality of Dinalungan, located in the province of Aurora, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Mapalad had a population of 952. This made it the 8th largest of 9 barangays in Dinalungan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mapalad accounted for approximately 7.61% of the total population of Dinalungan, which stood at 12,508 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 763 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 952 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +24.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Mapalad is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dinalungan is a municipality comprising 9 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mapalad, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Aurora, which contains 151 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Mapalad ranks 93rd by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
