Barangay Matangharon

Barangay Matangharon is a small barangay in the municipality of Dingle, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Matangharon had a population of 642. This made it the 29th largest of 33 barangays in Dingle by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Matangharon accounted for approximately 1.40% of the total population of Dingle, which stood at 45,965 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Matangharon moving from 645 residents to 642 residents, an intercensal change of -0.5%. The trajectory indicates a broadly stable community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Matangharon as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
