Barangay Luop

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Luop is one of the administrative divisions of Diplahan in Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga Peninsula, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Luop had a population of 886. This made it the 15th largest of 22 barangays in Diplahan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Luop accounted for approximately 2.72% of the total population of Diplahan, which stood at 32,585 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Luop moving from 1,024 residents to 886 residents, an intercensal change of -13.5%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Luop as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Diplahan is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Luop, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
