Barangay Old Maguisa

Barangay Old Maguisa is a very small barangay in the municipality of Donsol, located in the province of Sorsogon, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Old Maguisa had a population of 230. This made it the 50th largest of 51 barangays in Donsol by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Old Maguisa accounted for approximately 0.46% of the total population of Donsol, which stood at 50,281 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Old Maguisa moving from 242 residents to 230 residents, an intercensal change of -5.0%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Old Maguisa as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Donsol is a municipality comprising 51 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Old Maguisa, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
