Barangay Pag-asa (Pob.)

Barangay Pag-asa (Pob.) is a small barangay in the municipality of Dumalinao, located in the province of Zamboanga Del Sur, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pag-asa (Pob.) had a population of 933. This made it the 14th largest of 30 barangays in Dumalinao by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pag-asa (Pob.) accounted for approximately 2.83% of the total population of Dumalinao, which stood at 32,928 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Pag-asa (Pob.) changed from 864 to 933, a shift of +8.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Dumalinao. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pag-asa (Pob.) as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Dumalinao is a municipality comprising 30 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pag-asa (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Del Sur, which contains 779 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Pag-asa (Pob.) ranks 400th by 2020 population.
