Barangay Capaliz

Barangay Capaliz forms part of Dumangas, a municipality in Iloilo, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Capaliz had a population of 819. This made it the 34th largest of 45 barangays in Dumangas by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Capaliz accounted for approximately 1.11% of the total population of Dumangas, which stood at 73,899 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 709 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 819 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +15.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Capaliz as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dumangas is a municipality comprising 45 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Capaliz, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Capaliz ranks 945th by 2020 population.
