Barangay Patlad

Barangay Patlad is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Dumangas, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Patlad had a population of 2,099. This made it the 14th largest of 45 barangays in Dumangas by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Patlad accounted for approximately 2.84% of the total population of Dumangas, which stood at 73,899 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Patlad moving from 2,234 residents to 2,099 residents, an intercensal change of -6.0%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Patlad as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dumangas is a municipality comprising 45 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Patlad, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Patlad ranks 241st by 2020 population. Barangay Patlad is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
