Barangay Salcedo

Barangay Salcedo is a small barangay in the municipality of Dumarao, located in the province of Capiz, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Salcedo had a population of 1,671. This made it the 12th largest of 33 barangays in Dumarao by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Salcedo accounted for approximately 3.38% of the total population of Dumarao, which stood at 49,506 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Salcedo moving from 1,483 residents to 1,671 residents, an intercensal change of +12.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Salcedo is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dumarao is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Salcedo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
