Barangay Guintananan

Barangay Guintananan is a small barangay in the municipality of Dumingag, located in the province of Zamboanga Del Sur, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Guintananan had a population of 761. This made it the 26th largest of 44 barangays in Dumingag by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Guintananan accounted for approximately 1.56% of the total population of Dumingag, which stood at 48,881 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Guintananan moving from 704 residents to 761 residents, an intercensal change of +8.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Guintananan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
