Barangay Gumpingan

Barangay Gumpingan forms part of Dumingag, a municipality in Zamboanga Del Sur, and is classified as a very small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Gumpingan had a population of 405. This made it the 39th largest of 44 barangays in Dumingag by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Gumpingan accounted for approximately 0.83% of the total population of Dumingag, which stood at 48,881 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Gumpingan moving from 398 residents to 405 residents, an intercensal change of +1.8%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Gumpingan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dumingag is a municipality comprising 44 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Gumpingan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
