Situated in Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur, Barangay La Fortuna is one of 44 barangays that make up the municipality within Zamboanga Peninsula.

This made it the 24th largest of 44 barangays in Dumingag by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality.
