This made it the 64th largest of 64 barangays in Echague by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dicaraoyan accounted for approximately 0.45% of the total population of Echague, which stood at 88,410 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Dicaraoyan changed from 410 to 396, a shift of -3.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Echague. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Dicaraoyan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
